By Marion, Manon, Marine, Margaux, Anna and Linette.

  Activities.

  • In school we can play volley, badminton and handball. We also do climbing, athletic and gymnastic.

  • In our spare time, we do fitness and dance. But also volley and badminton.

  • In February we have a carnival at the school. Everybody is dressed up, and a band is playing music. There is Samba rhythms.

  • Everybody shows their outfit on the runway, just like a fashion show. The one who have the best outfit get a price.

  • In the weekends we meet with our friends and perhaps boyfriends in the city. We go shopping, talking, go to the cinema.

  • Manon dance at a dancing school.

  • We go to the disco in Montpellier or to parties.

  Marks.

  • We can get from 0/20 to 20/20 (ex: 6/20). 0/20 is a bad mark and 20/20 is the best

  • We get marks for every semester which is every three months.

Conditions in the French high school

  • You are supposed to meet at school at 8 o'clock until 6 o'clock in the afternoon.
  • You’ve got a break from 12 o'clock to about 2 o'clock.
  • The subjects in the high school are French, history, Spanish, English, math, German, economy, biology and sports.
  • You’ve got options like math, economy, Spanish, English (in a higher level), Portuguese, music.
  • The teacher talks most of the time, and the students take notes. The students use almost the same time on homework as the Danish students, about 1 hour each day.
  • The students can not choose subjects in the lessons, the teachers chooses normally the subject.
  • You got 6 every month, so the teachers know which marks they are suppose to give. The marks are given from 0-20.
  • There are some final tests in the end of the year.
  • The computer is only used for special projects and research. There are 2 computer rooms and 5 in the library.
  • There are arranged 1 or 2 parties and sports days in a year.
  • In the canteen it cost 3,20 euro per meal. The canteen is open from 11.30 to 13.30.

Everyday life for a student at Lycée Jean Vigo

  •  The students are meeting at different times, it depends on which class they are attending. Normally at 8 o’clock.

  •  Subjects: French, math, English, Spanish, biology, economic, sport, history, geography.

  • Marks are given between 0 and 20.

  • Wednesday morning we go to the school and in the afternoon it was earlier a tradition to go to church. Now we do activities or homework when we have free.

  •  In France a “demi-pensionnaire” is a person who eats at midday in the school, but lives at  home.

  •  An “externe” is a person who eats at the lycée, but l stays at home.

  • An “interne” is a person who sleeps and eats at the school all the week.

  •  Canteen food costs about  200€ for 3 months. Meals are hot and every day the meal is different.

  •  In first class at high school, we travel to other countries: Spain, Italy, Portugal, England.

  • Travels cost 250€. Abourt the establishment we help to pay for the travel. Pupils organize different activities: football, Christmas gifts….and the travel is less expensive.

The life at Jean Vigo

  • We work from Monday to Friday, we've got a lot of subjects: French, English, Spanish, math, sciences, history-geography, sports, economic, cinema, dramatic, music, Portuguese, etc...
  • But we have other activities, like sports: volley ball, basket ball, rugby, dance,...
  • And clubs: photography, drum, capoeira...
  • In 11th grade, we have to pass a French test this year, and next year all the other subjects for being graduated.
  • If you enter 0 to 8 you're bad, enter 8 to 12 it's quite good, 12 to 15 it's good and 15 to 20 it's very good, excellent. But this is our opinions.
