A bit about myself

My name is Rune; I am 18 years old. I live in a one-room flat, in the city of Vordingborg, right next to my high school. I left home about a month after I turned 18, the reason for this was that it took me 1 ˝ hours to get to school every day, and of course it took just as long to get home again.

But certainly I do have a family, a family about whom I care. My family consists of a mother and a father (obviously) named Dorthe and Lars, and a younger brother and sister. My brother, who is 15 years old, has started at a continuation school this year. And my sister who is 10 (I guess) goes to an ordinary primary school. So you see, it is a quite a radical change for my parents, being used to having three children at home, and then all of a sudden, within a year, only to have one left.

In my spare time I play in a band called BS, it is a group of four extremely skilled and gifted musicians. So far we have only played cover tracks, but we do nicely. Here in Vordingborg there is a kind of a festival named VUMF, where about 30 young bands compete, and the winner takes the trophy, the honour and some kind of a gift (different each year). Our band BS has now, three times in a row, won this festival.

Another of my spare time activities is a local authority project, where young people (mostly high school students) help younger children, aged 10-15, who have a troubled home, and perhaps a strained relationship to their parents. This is done by putting some fun into their lives, by doing something different to what they are used to. It could be a short trip in a vacation, perhaps a trip to Sweden, where we get to know them and keep them activated.

The year before last I also (just like my brother is this year) went to a continuation school, which especially focused on music. I went to this school for a year, it was incredibly educating and also a whole lot of fun. At this school I also met the person who I consider to be perhaps my best, or at least one of my best friends, Jeppe*. Jeppe and I now study at the same gymnasium, in the same class. Briefly Jeppe is just the opposite of me, it is easier to describe myself by saying I am everything Jeppe is not, and the other way around. Jeppe is a longhaired, open-minded, optimistic, socialist (partly communist), who believes in things such as ecology, and that hugging a tree transmits and exchanges energies between the tree and the “hugger”.

In the picture you see Jeppe* on the left and myself on the right                               in the picture you see me with a comb, a picture taken at the continuation school
